globosale.net - another one down

To all our clients, friends, enemies and Webmasters

What happend to others in this industry in the past happend to us today. What we think is an unfortunate example from Visa, we have been advised that our bank was instructed today to terminate our processing in order to avoid threatened fees in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Starting as of 1700 hours today GMT time, we can not accept any more transactions for your website but the user management will be alive until the expiration of the last user subscription.

As over 6000 Webmaster will be affected by this, we will not be able to answer the incoming calls and e-mails. Therefore we kindly ask you to respond in writing to our corporate address. In order to receive our settlement documentation and other pertinent information, you must send us a letter detailing your payee name, contact information and all site IDs that you held under the Globosale.net by October 8, 2003. Please ensure your letter includes the following necessary information:

Your full name or full name of the company
Your Webmaster ID and Security Code
Complete mailing address
Telephone number with area codes and email address
Your Website ID's

Given the volume that we anticipate receiving, please allow up to 6 weeks for us to respond to your correspondence. Please do not phone or fax or email us because these methods of contact have now been automated. We will respond only to written communications that contain the information set forth above.

In order to receive your correspondence in due time, send it not later than Ocotober 8, 2003 to:

GloboSale.net AG
P.O. Box 501
8702 Erlenbach
Switzerland

We are very disappointed with the sudden situation which termindated GloboSale.net AG operations within a matter of hours. Not only have we been accused of wrongdoing without any proof from VISA and VISA also abruptly terminated our contracts without prior consultations. Please accept our regrets for this and we sincerely hope that we can bring this to an acceptable settlement for all our valued customers.

For an alternative billing solution provider, please contact Verotel in the Netherlands. Verotel's website can be found at

http://www.verotel.com/globosale

We know and understand you might be suspicious to other billing providers, but Verotel is in this business for almost six years and have very steady and redundant banking relationships in Europe.

Sincerely
Andreas De Terra
Chairman

Visa sure is doing some serious gardening here. Never heard much of these guys but was just at a site today that had them as backup billers, I suppose that's what they were mainly... backup...

Globosale and Globill seem connected.

Same letter, and most webmasters from Globill received spam from Globosale just after Globill closed down.

What i dont understand is why these stupid piss ant companys dont just pay out the money owed to webmasters, after all they have all their payment details. Why ask webmasters to send in their details again? Fucking Globill did this and there is no reason for it, just pay whats owed. I am so glad we are with Epoch and CCbill

Dear Filter,

You have heard recently from your current
billing provider, GloboSale in Switzerland,
that they have ceased their operations
starting today, September 8th.

Globosale provided us with your contact
details and this is NOT an unsolicited
request.

Our company, Verotel Merchant Services BV,
in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is doing
adult entertainment transactions for almost
six years. With a volume of almost 100
million US Dollars per year, we are one of
the biggest players in the market today.

We have very tight and close relationships
with nine different acquiring banks,
located in Europe, Asia and the United States.

We know and understand VISA and MasterCard
concerns about this business and we are working
closely with them to find solutions for the
problems they are facing. That's why we know
we are here to stay.

We like to offer you a seamless transfer
from your GloboSale account to a new Verotel
account, where:

* we offer a 13.5% standard rate for all
new transactions

* we give a 1% discount until October 31st
if you start processing with us within the
next week

* unfortunately we are unable to take over
any recurring transactions from GloboSale,
since these transactions have not been
pre-approved or verified by Verotels anti
fraud systems.

Start processing today with Verotel. Just
signup at

http://www.verotel.com/globosale

And our dedicated merchant support team will
take care of the rest at no charge.
Our merchant support team can be reached
by email at [email protected]
or by one of the following phone numbers:

>From the United States: 1-877-647-1300
>From Europe: 00-800-44229999
>From the rest of the world: +31 20 3208833

We hope to welcome you soon,
Kindest regards,

Verotel Management

But dont worry, you'll be in good shape, you'll just do like the rest and hold back the last couple weeks of signups and rebills for the new house.

Based on recent closures of other billing companies we understand if you are concerned about stability. However, we would like to put your concerns to rest. Other billing companies have ceased their operations due to two things:

a. high chargeback ratios in the VISA/MasterCard region they are operating (i.e., where the billing companies related to this got high fines for each chargeback that occurred) and/or

b. branding issues with VISA/MasterCard related to non-mainstream Adult Entertainment. VISA and MasterCard don't want to be affiliated with websites that bear content that is forbidden in the United States or in any country in Western Europe.

Verotel?s risk management department watches both issues on all webmasters. To continue our effort we will launch a change in our chargeback policy where we will provide bonuses for webmasters that are under a certain chargeback ratio.

Verotel is a fully Dutch company with headquarters in Amsterdam. We are not a subsidiary of an American entity nor are we a branch office. We have a very strong position with many European and Asian acquiring banks and are here to stay.
------------------------------

Now, anyone ready to process with a stable billing company? Click the link below or send me an email. If you were a former Globosale client reference your account number in your email.

Coming from a guy promoting a site that appears incestual, and teen sites with girls holding cute 'n cuddly plush toys. Get a grip, hypocrite.

Why is it when a company like this shuts down you people circle like vultures and throw the insults around. Think about the people that are now going to be out of work.

Come on folks, have a little bit of compasion here

If your site is legal and fits within our acceptable content guidelines then of course we will accept you.

Als je site legaal is dan is er geen probleem. Stuur mij een email met de URL van je site en ik zal er iemand naar laten kijken.

I am pretty they don't have your money in their bank account either. Their bank is holding the funds and will only release it after 6 months. It's just funny how some webmasters assume the billing company took their money and ran away. It's their bank who has the funds and they won't release for 6 months.

Whats the correct strategy from a webmaster perspective once these billers go down ?

For now Globosale has my money as well as my reserve. Both of which I expect to see little.

I could cancel their .htpasswd list off my server and recommend all clients who complain charge back and then offer them an incentive to rebill with an alternate processor.

Presumably though Globosale would want to bill me for the chargebacks - despite owing me money anyway....

I should certainly look at blocking access for customers who have signed up since my last payout as that money I will never receive ?

At the end of the day I want to convert the customers across to my new biller as quickly as possible... With PSW hiccups and Globosale now Ive lost close to 400 regular rebillers...

Any constructive recommendations ?

When Globill went down we got hit hard, and had 1000s of members, plus the rebills n shit. The the gloBILLscripts started fucking up, so we decided on the following.
Moved all .htpasswd files to another local, and dleted all gloscripts and changed ftpinfo etc.
That left us with 1000s of usernames that would hang forever if not delted. So we mailed the users, told em the shit, gave an option to rejoin at a cut price rate. We also said we would honor all memberships in full so long as they mailed us the recipt they were sent from globill on signup. We crosscheckd that data on the passfiles and readded em through another billing system with a code for each username so we could identify a manuall add.
For those members who could not give a recipt it was hard cheese. However surprising to us, most supported us and undertood the situation, we backed of from telling em to cback as this could have caused problems further down the line. We then went through all password files manually deleating all globill accounts, and processing the emails as they came with a "cant login bitch" it was tough going, a truly awfull job, but we got clean lists now, are rebuilding memberships, rebills etc, and are still in biz while others rot.

Just my 1 cents

Customers are not the guilty vilain. Informed them that their membership will expire without rebilling, and try to get them to sign now with a special link/deal.

No point to annoy them. Did that when Globill went and got near 60% to join thru Ibill....

If you cancel the access, it doesn't give you a nickel more ...

Awesome! Does it make sense to try and get rebills to rejoin for say $1 to capture the info and give the month after at a better rate?
