Is there anyone with half a fucking brain at AVN????
Some of us do NOT want ANYTHING that says "adult entertainment expo" on the outside, showing up at our mailboxes.
I got two very different pieces of mail today...XBiz magazine, wrapped discreetly in blue plastic....and a postcard that said several times on it that I should register for the premiere adult entertainment expo in January. I do NOT want anything that says "adult" on the outside, showing up in my community where people can see it. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT FOR AVN TO UNDERSTAND???? |

Though oddly enough a discretely bagged magazine is the universal sign of porn.
Ive shot content, my address is out there, and honestly I do not mind it as much as some do. Though I must say AVN has not been the only offender.

the rest is openly applauding

I think a little discretion would be nice on the part of anyone sending anything "adult" to anyone they don't know personally. Most companies are really cool about it and have changed their mailings when presented with their lack of discretion by their customers. But, some just don't get it. Sometimes, you have to yell a lot to get their attention.
I don't think they are stupid or uncaring. I just believe that enough people haven't spoken up to make sending adult materials through the mail in an identifiable media a significant concern. Perhaps the problem should be addressed as a "best practice" for the industry. |

Put it this way, I get 3 AVN mags a month, and none of them have my name on them, they have people I have never heard of with my company on it... Guess they must be my employees I never met.
Don't think the brightest bulb in the tree is in charge of mailings over there. |
