Cams.com,AFF,NastyDollars,Adult.com, Imlive, ALL SPONSOR PROGRAMS - YES or NO?

This is for all affiliate programs, i wished i could have named all of you in the title.

Question: Do you allow signups from spyware, spybots, etc.. Is this acceptable or would you ban them/keep money if you found out about it ?

(read this if you are unaware what is going on: https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/661879-attention-program-owners-shit-affiliate-sales.html )

We need an official response to this. Just post here and tell us " yes " or "no" . Failure to post will be taken as a "yes" - you accept signups from from spyware. If I have to I will personally contact as many affiliate companies as I can to bring this thread to their attention, no one can have the excuse " I didn't know about it".

Please send this thread to your reps. I ask every affiliate to contact the company you send traffic to and ask them how they deal with spyware and ask them to post in this thread.

Once we get them on the record as saying they don't support it, then when we send them accounts of individuals who are doing it, those accounts should be banned in minutes. I would also like to see them contact these companies that push this spyware shit and tell them straight up, " don't signup to my program, if you do you will not be paid".

If you do nothing else keep bumping this thread. We need answers. If the company you send traffic to allows spyware then there is no doubt you are losing sales. This is worse then shaving and it affects everyone of us here.

Some big companies who post here A LOT and run a lot of advertising here have been very very quiet on this issue. Time to answer.

This is a good post. It's going on all over and most webmasters are blind to the fact they are losing sales big time.

if they are still blind to it after I am finished with my personal crusade on this issue then they will need to get their heads out of the sand.

I've always like the saying, if you are bent over with your head in the sand your ass is left up exposed just waiting to get fucked. that is pretty accurate saying IMO.

I just installed the zango product.

Typed in cams.com in a fresh browser.
I got a popup window that popped over the top of the original typein window, with another cams.com page but with affiliate ID p85068. Wonder how that affiliate is doing

Will,

I have personally had our system scanned for these signups, in addition, we run monitors on it.

We found little to no occurences of it. Historically, I think we have had it happen maybe twice? That said, I am not sure what incentive exist in allowing it to go on? I notice this is your second thread regarding it, so maybe you could fill me in on the benefits?

Much like shaving, I have never understood the overall benefit to the program. I of course am responding in the "long term" tense.

Hope that helps,

they wont post that in here. You would need to contact program owners. I know programs tht will accept it. But it needs to reasonable in away ( as far as that is possible) There was a big company out there 180s**** that sended traffic that way...
AF programs won't pusblish this, if I would run a program I wouldnt tell it publicly

Here are some facts:

Spyware hurts sponsors just as much as affiliates.

1. If i have spyware on my pc and i go type in " www.cams.com" then cams.com should get that sale, they should not have to pay a comission on it. But since i have a spyware program on my pc when i type in cams.com then the spyware will detect that pop under a window to "cams.com" and set their affiliate code. So the spyware company will get credit for sales that the affiliate company should have made 100% on.

2. If your affiliates are getting screwed over by spyware and not getting credit for their sales, TRUE you still get the sale, but eventually don't you think that affiliate may leave as his conversions/ sales get worse and worse? Possibly accuse you of shaving? Over time you will lose affiliates from this.

3. If the spyware opperates like they claim they do, then it still doesn't help you, it is just a big circle jerk. Mike has spyware on his pc, he goes to imlive.com and a window pops up for cams.com , lets say cams.com gets the sale.... whooo ho cams.com likes spyware it made them money ? 10 seconds later, Jim who has the same spyware on his pc types in cams.com and he gets a window that pops up that shows imlive.com whooo ho imlive.com is happy they just took a sale away from cams... do you get it ? picture a big circle jerk.

All you are doing is trading signups, not making more money. Your affiliates are losing sales left and right, and you are also losing your own sales from type in traffic and your own paid advertising. You lose affiliates over time because of poor conversions with your program.

So why would sponsor support this ?

Let me say this and sponsors can reply if they so choose because some of them haven't replied to my emails.

About a year or so ago, I found on Ben's site examples of adult ads. Programs targeted that interested me were:

MaxCash
Nasty Dollars
Leading Edge Cash

LEC and MaxCash took quick action and I know they don't allow it.

Nasty Dollars totally ignored me.

Now...

Laurel at Hustler told me a month or so ago that they had found spyware in Hustler. They deleted the account because it wasn't allowed in that program. Now Laurel is no longer at Hustler, are the terms still the same?

A few weeks ago, my conversions dropped dramatically with MoreNiche. I asked Kellie to do some testing for me. Sure enough, both MoreNiche and Leading Edge Cash were targeted. Both companies took quick action and removed the scum affiliate. I know that MN and LEC do not allow spyware.

Just last week, I was checking links on my site. I clicked on totalaccessporn from DollarMachine. My firewall blocked a popup for zangocash. I sent an email to DollarMachine via their contact/support form. I told them what happened. I asked them straight out if they were aware that they were promoting spyware through their popups and whether they were ok with this. Haven't heard anything back yet. Silence is all the answer I need. I still give them one more day and then their links get removed and my blog will say why and I'll warn all my sites and blog visitors about it.

I don't think you are going to be able to detect it, at least not from what I can tell. How do you detect it? The way i see it working they pop open a new window with their code in it, how do you know that url has anything to do with spyware unless someone reports it ? Thats the main thing I want to get out of this thread, sponsors to saw whether they support it or not. If they don't I (and hopefully many other affiliates) will make sure to report it everytime we see their affiliate program being pushed through spyware and would expect (since they dont support it) that the account would be taken down immediately.

I don't see the benefits of allowing this to happen either. Apparently there is more to it since some companies refuse to say they will not allow it.

Will you check karupspc.com or karupsha.com, or can you do a search for keywords? Like karups, etc etc

I should really add to this that these ads were popped via exactadvertising and not 180solutions. So as you can see, zango is just one of many that does that.

This type of advertising is total bs.. And a good number of big programs allow it. No worries, the hammer will come down one day, always does.

If anyone finds a webmaster pushing EvilGeniusCash this way or any illegal/stupid way, just let me know. Drop ya some cash for a finders fee.

In Sunny Dollars' thread announcing new sites and higher payouts, I asked them point blank if SD belonged in the thread "adult sponsors opposed to spyware". I haven't seen them post yet.

I can only imagine how many scumbags such a promotion will attract and how many sales will be lost and redirected from honest webmasters. *sigh*

Zango Accused Of Deceiving MySpace Users

Users of MySpace who find a link to a video and press the Play button may have just agreed to install adware from 180solutions' Zango division.

http://www.securitypronews.com/news/...paceUsers.html

very detailed report if you have time read:

http://www.benedelman.org/spyware/180-affiliates/

zango used to be 180 solutions until they got a major lawsuit.

http://www.zango.com/Destination/Cor...cle.aspx?id=50

Hotbar and 180solutions Merge; Combined Company To Be Called Zango

BELLEVUE, Wash. and NEW YORK/TEL AVIV, Israel June 7, 2006-Hotbar and 180solutions today announced an agreement to merge, effective immediately. The merged company will be known as Zango.

http://blogs.zdnet.com/Spyware/?p=655

A class action complaint against adware company 180solutions was filed today in an Illinois United States District Court by attorneys Shawn M. Collins and David J. Fish of The Collins Law Firm. The complaint on behalf of residents of the United States and the state of Illinois charges that 180solutions downloaded spyware on computers illegally causing a number of damages. 180solutions' alleged illegal practices include deceptively distributing spyware files and preventing users from removing them, engaging in deceptive misconduct to download its spyware without users' knowledge or consent, lying to consumers about its spyware, etc.

Hi Brent,

Funny, I'm not getting the zangocash popup anymore on your sites. You sure have a ton of popups though.

Maybe others can test your sites to see if they get that popup. You should really think about offering no console options.

The only answer we should here from program owners is that they do not allow this type of shit and to send them the affiliate code and any info you have on these thieves and they will shut them down.
There is no benefit to allow this to continue to anyone including the program owners.

Sadly I don't think many programs really care that much and they don't want the extra work of investigating this type of fraud. Hopefully some will come forward and try to put a stop to this and then the others might follow.

Great thread Will. This should keep getting bumped until there are some answers

Great post and attitude. I am hoping that hammer is coming down very very soon. I am sure I am making some enemies in our industry by bring this up, but I doubt they will publicy say so. I don't care not the type of people I would want to do business with anyway. Mess with my money by theft, fraud, etc... I don't care who you are you can go fuck yourself.

I wish each one of you could have found this the way that I did. Can you image clicking the link one of your sites and it goes to the signup page of the sponsor you are advertising. Then you see a popunder load up, and you go check your cookies and someone else's affiliate info is now in your cookie, would you not be pissed of to no end !!#! I really think it takes seeing this to understand it 100% how bad this is.

Respectively,

loveaccess: http://www.loveaccess.com/preview-on...1&keyword=KW38

Ifriends: http://browse.ifriends.net/~wsapi/ifbrowse.dll?filter=e Account: ref_code=SLAPASSRNC (You know they don't post but I am working with them personally on this issue.)

liveoncam: http://www.liveoncam.com/ (cookie i am pretty sure was from them: SRCID=7&KeywordID=28141www.match-firm.com)

adultmatchheat: http://landing.adultmatchheat.com/ (cookie lc

Hey Will,

You should check links for the sponsors who posted they were against it to see what happens, if anything, on their sites. Then it's time for me to go pull some links and find replacements.

Sunny Dollars posted a new promotion, I'd be curious to know if they're targeted at all. I do have some of their links on one site.

What's "funny" is that any program that allows this is just shooting themselves in the foot.... i.e. affiliate sends traffic, sales get hijacked... program doesn't care since they get the sales.. affiliate isn't getting sales so he stops sending traffic to the program... program makes less sales since the hijacker isn't actually sending any traffic.

Don't see why this would be hard to "fix"... topbucks locks the cookie for a short period of time to prevent that sort of hijacking.

Why would you say that ? This is for the benifit of everyone. I dont see why you
make such a comment like that considering one of the applacations that people use to grab clips off of p2p has the zango toolbar installed in it. Its hurting the guys who are buying traffic from YOU . Also if you are pushing your own afillate id's you are geting screwed too.
